Following university, Jenn graduated in April 2005 from the Algonquin College three year Massage Therapy Program. The program offered numerous clinical opportunities which provided her with the chance to work with a range of different populations such as infants, expectant mothers, athletes, elderly and children with developmental delays where she saw a variety of clinical conditions.
Through the Sport Performance Institute, Jenn has become a certified Personal Trainer and Strength Training Specialist and has a strong interest in the benefits of massage therapy on various scar tissue adhesions. Algonquin College developed the first scar clinic outreach in the spring of 2005. During this placement, Jenn, had the fortunate experience of working on both surgical and burn scars.
Jenn has continued her studies in massage therapy and has completed a Craniosacral Course in the spring of 2006, contemporary medical acupuncture course through McMaster University in 2008 and most recently Level 1 Reiki throughthe Healing Arts Learning Organization in 2013.
In addition to common musculoskeletal impairments, the diversity of clients offers Jenn the opportunity to treat a variety of conditions such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathies, chronic bronchitis, fibromyalgia, constipation, anxiety disorders, stress, osteoporosis and scar tissue adhesions to name a few. Jenn also believes that a relaxation massage is essential in helping to restore a whole body wellness state.
Through a client centered approach Jenn employs a variety of treatment modalities including Swedish massage, lymphatic drainage, trigger point therapy, hydrotherapy, myofascial techniques, low grade joint mobilization, craniosacral therapy and contemporary medical acupuncture. Each can help normalize muscle tissue, enhance circulation, improve posture and promote the healing process.
Jenn works with her clients utilizing their knowledge, skills and comfort level when creating individual massage treatment plans.
